We meet on the 4th Thursday of every month at 7.45pm at Groombridge Village Hall, Station Road, Groombridge, TN3 9QX – Visitors are very welcome
If you are thinking of joining the WI, come along to a meeting. We all know what it’s like to turn up on your own to a hall full of ladies so we look after our new members really well. We have a wide age range from 30-80 years so don’t be shy!

Groombridge Women’s Institute was formed nearly one hundred years ago in 1924. We have continued to provide a regular social focus for woman of all ages and experiences living in the village and surrounding areas ever since. GWI was relaunched and moved to an evening meeting in 2014. We have adopted a modern approach to our meetings whilst acknowledging the traditions and heritage of the WI. We’re not just about jam and Jerusalem these days.
We are really aware that many people join the WI to meet new, local friends – this is why many of us joined too! To support this, and our members interests, we have a book group and a craft group. All members are welcome to join and if you have any ideas for new croups, we are always open to suggestions. Details are on our website or ask a committee member at any meeting.

Our members mainly come from within Groombridge and neighbouring towns and villages. We are a friendly bunch of approximately 65 ladies who have great fun when we can meet. Our ages range from early 30s to 80s. We offer complimentary wine (in teacups!) and snacks at all our meetings.
